I apologize from my lengthy absence from the blog…..time gets away from ya when you have two little ones. I’m going to start posting baby gear, etc that I plan on selling. Some things I will sell on ebay if I get no response here. So here is my short list of items for the day:

7 months old……1st trip to the ER with an injury May 13, 2011

So Yates has somehow injured his leg. We still don’t know what the exact problem is, so I will back up and start from the beginning……..

Wednesday…..after Tiffiney noticed he refused to bend his right knee and cried when someone tried to bend it, we went to the ER. After spending 3 1/2 hours there, we left with a diagnosis of toxic synovitis. That’s basically when a virus causes the tissue around a joint to become inflamed. It’s a lot like temporary arthritis and is temporary. So today (Friday) his leg is still no better. We went to see his pediatrician, and she is going to repeat the x ray Monday just to make sure there are no hairline fractures. If we are dealing with injuries at 7 months old, I shutter to think what 7 years old will be like.

An unintentional southern belle May 3, 2011

We are sitting here in the Children’s Clinic waiting to get Charlie Rogan’s iron checked, and I’m listening as she “reads” to me. ‘The pig say-yas oh-wink, oh-wink’. ‘Look at the kidda-kayat’ (kitty cat). She pronounces her words like a true southern belle with a real southern drawl. Where did she get this from? Is this how I talk? It’s cute for her, but do I sound that country?

She’s become her own little person with her own ideas, and I absolutely love listening to her explain things to me. She is my miracle……and has touched my heart in a way that has forever changed my life. I am a better person because of Charlie Rogan Gillespie, and as we get closer to this year’s March for Babies, I am reminded of how fortunate and blessed my family has been. So to sum up this rambling post….. I am forever indebted to the March of Dimes for helping me to have this sweet southern belle in my life and giving me the opportunity to have the family I never dreamed was possible.

Lemmie and other things April 18, 2011

Well the Gillespies had a full day yesterday (Sunday). We went to church (the Episcopal Church in Carrollton), we partied with the Pantin Family for Elliott’s upcoming 2nd birthday, and the list goes on and on. I snapped this picture of Lemmie, Robert’s parents’ dog, after we picked her up from Dollar General, which is quite a distance from her house. We loaded her up in the ‘mama mobile’ and took her home.
