I went to school with Kathryn Sturdivant Dyksterhouse, but haven’t talked to her in years until recently. We have so much in common these days….both have daughters (around 18 months), both had a lot of trouble with our last pregnancy, we are both pregnant with boys (3 weeks apart), and we have been on the same medications during this pregnancy. Being able to discuss the shots, the procardia, and the anxiety with someone who is experiencing it right along with me has been great. Although our exact problems are somewhat different, I know what she is going through.
Now I would like to ask you to keep her in your prayers. As of today, she has been placed on strict bedrest and a terbutaline pump to stop her contractions. She is 26 weeks. The pump will help for a while, but will lose its effectiveness after 6 to 8 weeks, so it won’t help her get to term, but it will help her get close. Bedrest is hard, and thinking about delivering a baby prematurely is even harder. She is strong and has a positive outlook on things, but prayers are always needed. Afterall, an 18 month + bedrest = a very complicated situation.
She has a blog, but has not updated it recently. Its http://dhousenews.blogspot.com. I’m sure she will update it now that she’s on bedrest. Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone
