Doctors, doctors and more doctors May 14, 2010

It seems to me that Charlie Rogan and I are always in a doctor’s office, so I can only imagine how it must look to everyone else. Over the past 17 months, we have struggled to “fix” the string of things that have appeared since she came home from the NICU. For so long, there have been questions in my mind that I have not been able to have answered…….Are some of these conditions related and if so how? Why have so many things “come up” since she came home from the NICU? Her stay at the NICU was relatively uneventful. Is she growing normally? And so on, and so on. Today we finally got to see the GI specialist, Dr. Nowicki, and I finally feel like we are on the road to having answers to some of these questions, and that is a relief that I can never explain. I think, as the mother of a preemie, I am constantly waiting on the other shoe to drop, or so to speak. Things have gone well, so will that change? When I meet doctors like I met today, a little bit of that fear fades away. Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone
